About Russ Rommes,

CPA Russ offers more than twenty-five years of professional experience in public accounting. Before founding RC Consulting, LLC, he was a partner in a local CPA firm in Minneapolis/St. Paul for almost twenty years working with clients on a local and national level in construction, real estate (management, development and investment), retail and wholesale companies, mortgage brokerage and loan companies, professional services and consulting, restaurants, assisted living and nursing homes, financing companies and various non-profit companies. He also gained valuable professional experience working for two national CPA firms and a large regional CPA firm. In addition, he has taught accounting and tax classes at the college level and provided part time assistance for client companies as controller/CFO.

Russ holds a CPA license in Arizona and Minnesota, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University and has done graduate course work at the University of Minnesota Master of Business Taxation Program. He has served large and small clients during his professional experience and therefore brings extensive knowledge, practical experience and a common sense approach to helping solve the needs of small businesses and individuals.

Real Estate Experience and Background

• Analyzing real estate agreements ranging from $80,000 to $160,000,000; Partnerships and Joint Ventures;
• Forecasting and planning the tax benefits of owning real estate;
• Determine the fair market value of real estate to assist in the purchase and determine the rate of returns of ownership over the course of 1 year, 5 years and 10 year periods.
• Understanding the tax codes associated with real estate ownership, passive loss rules, active participation, real estate professional status;
• Worked with the following real estate industries - single family housing, multifamily housing, raw land development, industrial buildings, commercial buildings, retail strip malls.
• Assisted in financing with market financing, HUD financing and private equity.
